by Jeff Tilton 13. April 2012 13:45

Step 1 – Get a Dropbox if you don’t have one, Click on Dropbox link Below

Step 2 – Uploading Files

Once you get the Dropbox folder on your computer, go ahead and copy the files you want to share into the Public folder in your Dropbox folder. Make sure you put them in the Public folder so that you can copy a public download link. Depending on the size of the files, you might need to wait awhile for Dropbox to sync them up to the internet. Just wait for the Green checkbox to appear then you know it’s ready to share.

Step 3 – Create A Public Download Link

The easiest method is to just Right-Click the file from Windows Explorer, Click Dropbox inside the Context menu and Click Copy Public Link.

Step 4 – Share Your Link

Your file is now public and open for anyone to download. Just Paste link and Email to a friend

How message recall works, Microsoft Office Outlook

by Jeff Tilton 27. March 2012 11:02

You send an e-mail message, asking your co-workers to review the sales figures for this year. After you send the message, the flood begins — "What attachment?" "I didn't get the attachment!" "Can you resend the attachment?"

How can you undo your error? You want to recall the original message, then resend it with the missing attachment. For all of your co-workers who haven't opened the message yet, you can play an e-mail sleight of hand and replace the original message with one containing the attachment.

Do the following:

1.In Mail, in the Navigation Pane, click Sent Items.
2.Open the message you want to recall or replace.
3.On the Actions menu, click Recall This Message.
4.Click Delete unread copies and replace with a new message.

Note   If you are sending the message to a large number of people, you may want to consider clearing the Tell me if recall succeeds or fails for each recipient check box.

5.Click OK, and then type a new message and include the attachment.
6.Click Send.

In another scenario, you accidentally send a message announcing a party for your staff that afternoon. A thoughtful gesture on your part; however, the surprise party isn't until next week. Oops. You want to recall the message, and not replace the message at this time.

Do the following:

1.In Mail, in the Navigation Pane, click Sent Items.
2.Open the message you want to recall or replace.
3.On the Actions menu, click Recall This Message.
I don't see Recall This Message on the Actions menu

Make sure you are in the Sent Items folder. The command will also not appear if you are using a POP3, IMAP, or HTTP e-mail account, including MSN Hotmail.

4.Click Delete unread copies of this message.
Note   If you are sending the message to a large number of people, you may want to consider clearing the Tell me if recall succeeds or fails for each recipient check box.

Select whether only to delete the message or to delete and replace the message.
Select the check box to receive a confirmation that the recall was successful

Dropbox for Android

by Jeff Tilton 27. March 2012 09:09

By Edward J. Correia

Who hasn't said or heard "I'll e-mail that to you when I get back to the office," only to forget about it later. You can forget that phrase altogether by using Dropbox Inc.'s cloud-based storage service with today's  app Dropbox for Android.

Compatible with most Android devices (as well as Blackberry and iPhone/iPad), the Dropbox mobile app permits direct transfers of pictures, videos, email attachments and other files from smartphones and tablets directly to an existing Dropbox account; no more need to forward emails to yourself or connect to your desktop or laptop computer.

Dropbox for Android is free, as is the basic Dropbox service, as long as your total storage doesn't exceed 2GB. If you need more than that, a 50GB plan starts at $9.99 a month. Compatible with Mac OS X and Windows, a client-side app makes cloud-based file sharing as easy as creating a folder, and files saved to a Dropbox folder are kept in sync between machines, devices and the cloud automatically. Recent improvements to the Android app include background transfers over WiFi and wireless data plans, and storage of credentials in Android's secure Account Manager.
